National Climate and Water Briefing

The August 2013 National Climate and Water Briefing presentations are available on the Bureau’s website. Above average temperatures continued across most of Australia through July and early August, while the outlook favoured warmer spring conditions for northern Australia, coastal Western Australia and Tasmania, and a wetter season for southeastern Australia and the Top End.

Cotter Dam water storage update

 
 

Thumbnail of Cotter Dam water storage level graphThe Bureau's Water Storage site has been updated to reflect the recent enlargement of the Cotter Dam in the Australian Capital Territory.

The storage capacity of the Cotter Dam was increased earlier this year to 76 197 ML, which is nearly 20 times its original capacity of 3847 ML.
